Help Solve Bank Robberies! (And learn some statistics, too)
For anyone who watches CSI, Law and Order, or Columbo reruns on a regular basis, there’s a website that’s right up your alley:
http://georgiabankrobbery.com/
There you can find pictures from bank cameras, descriptions, and locations of robberies. So look through all them- there are FAR more than most people realize- and see if you recognize any of the individuals.
And! If you’re interested in some fun facts on bank robberies, you can check out the latest FBI quarterly publishing of Bank Crime Statistics, here:
http://www.fbi.gov/publications/bcs/bcs2008/bank_crime_2008q4.htm
You’ll be interested to know that if you want to avoid a robbery, for instance, the best time to go to a bank is between 6am and 9am. Although, you’ll be disappointed when you realize that your bank actually probably doesn’t open its lobby until 9am. Moral of the story: use the drive through early.
Enjoy!
